In areas of South Africa, more than 80% of the population are HIV positive. In Zululand, the Order runs a care centre for such people providing a training centre, day-care and hospice facility as well as a childrens home.

The FAS has been supporting this needy project over recent years. We have sent first aid trainers and other volunteers to help in the work, and have been raising funds for their work both at the annual Christmas concert and on an ongoing basis.

In 2004 the FAS raised £30k for the work of the centre. We expect this to cover their operational expenses for about 6 months.
